Il y a bien des années, c’est au lycée d'Arts plastiques que mon histoire a commencé. J’y ai tout appris : peinture, graphique, sculpture. J’ai côtoyé les plus grands artistes locaux qui étaient alors mes professeurs, ce fut un privilège pour moi d’acquérir autant de connaissances, un brassage artistique exaltant. Après le bac en 1975, j’ai décidé de me diriger vers l’École d’architecture, mais malgré mon engagement, ce ne fut pas concluant. J’étais sans arrêt rattrapé par ma passion pour la peinture.

En 2015, après un long chemin tortueux fait de hauts et de bas, j’ai décidé de me consacrer enfin uniquement à la peinture. Deux noms m’ont alors inspiré, Dali et Vélasquez, qui sont pour moi des mentors, leurs œuvres m’interpellent et me parlent. (Comme fut Frank Lloyd Wright pour moi en architecture.)

Dans mes œuvres, je voudrais parvenir à fusionner une réinterprétation du surréalisme et du classique réunis en un mouvement nouveau qua j’appellerais « archifaux ». Tout vers une stylisation poussée de la forme, un peu comme l’avait fait Brancusi en sculpture.

J’ai toujours aimé cet art, et j’en ai fait ma vocation toute ma vie. Aujourd’hui, alors que je suis à l’apogée de ma sagesse, je vous invite à vous arrêter devant mes œuvres pour un moment d’évasion.

Many years ago, my journey began at the School of Fine Arts. There, I learned everything: painting, graphic design, sculpture. I had the privilege of being taught by some of the greatest local artists of the time, and it was an exhilarating artistic melting pot of knowledge. After graduating in 1975, I decided to pursue a career in architecture. However, despite my commitment, it didn't lead to a successful path as I was constantly drawn back to my passion for painting.

In 2015, after a long and winding journey filled with ups and downs, I finally decided to dedicate myself exclusively to painting. Two names inspired me during that period: Dali and Velasquez, who I consider my mentors; their works resonate with me. (Much like Frank Lloyd Wright was in the field of architecture.)

In my artwork, I aim to merge a reinterpretation of surrealism and classical elements into a new movement that I would call "archifaux." This direction leads to an intense stylization of form, somewhat reminiscent of what Brancusi achieved in sculpture.

I have always loved this art, and I have made it my life's vocation. Today, as I reach the zenith of my wisdom, I invite you to take a moment to contemplate my artworks. Through my paintings, I invite you into my world.___
